Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night!

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Poem by Dylan Thomas

My translation: DO not give up!

My Response: Never! I might get wounded and have to limp along for a bit. I might fall down and need some serious help to get back up, I might need someone else to lead the way for a bit, but I won't give up!

That was a good one - don't give up. I just had a mini meltdown this morning, and this is a good thing to read. Thank you Kim!

(And, I'm feeling pretty good. It's good to have a meltdown once in awhile, right? I mean, that's what they say...)

LOVE YOU!

Very nicely said. I guess if you can press on and not give up, I won't either and if you fall I will be there to help you get back up and move forward. You'll always have my shoulder to lean onto as well. What a great poem and excellent translation.
By the way I say go to GR. You know how happy you are when you go there and it will be well worth it for you.Being happy and getting away is also good fro you mind and body. So go have some healthy fun and have a great week-end as well.

Hi there Ms Ariel...
How's everything been going with you? I hope that you're still working hard on all that you need to do to stay healthy, inside and out.
I also hope that you had a very Happy Easter. No blog for me today. I need to catch up on all the other blogs. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you :-) Plus keeping you in my prayers as well.
